There’s a champagne supernova in the sky, it must be Noel Gallagher’s birthday!?

oasis live
David asked:

Noel Gallagher, guitarist, singer, songwriter, ’90s Britpop icon, writer of such modern classics as “Champagne Supernova,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Live Forever,” “The Shock of the Lightning,” and “Wonderwall,” turns 42 today!

Noel is one of my musical heroes. I consider him one of the finest musicians of our generation. So many of the songs he’s written are important to me, have helped me through the bad times, etc., etc.

So, Oasis admirers, let’s celebrate a bit, shall we? With a couple questions, of course.

Q1: Favorite song by The Beatles? The Jam? The Stone Roses? The Who? A few of the bands Noel has cited as inspirations.
Q2: Favorite Oasis song?
Q3: If your favorite Oasis song is sung primarily by Liam, what’s your favorite Oasis song sung by Noel?
Q4: Post a live Oasis performance (YouTube) you dig…

Thanks! =)
A1: “A Day in the Life” – The Beatles
“The Butterfly Collector” – The Jam
“Sally Cinnamon” – The Stone Roses
“1921″ – The Who

A2: “Don’t Look Back in Anger”

A3: Noel sings “Don’t Look Back…”

Just to amuse myself, here are three more Oasis live performances I absolutely adore:

I have no answers to your questions and it seems like you answered them anyway, and I only liked one single song they ever did, but I do remember a quote from the band that I read like a million years ago. They said “If the Beatles were still around today, we would be the Beatles”. I puzzled that one out for a long time.
