Darcie M asked:
I’m leaving to go on a holiday to Punta Cana, and just wondering whether I will need to take adapters or transformers so that I can charge my camera and straighten my hair?
I live in Spain, and in Punta Cana I will be staying in the hotel Grand Oasis – it is 5 star

The Grand Oasis is a beautiful hotel on Bavaro Beach. I believe you operate on a 220V-230V in Spain. You will need an adapter for both the plug shape (theirs are all recessed 2 prong plugs) as well as the voltage as they operate on a 110-120V which is the same as USA and Canada. Hope this helps..have a great time!
The power suppy is technically 60hz with 100 volts compared to 60hz 110 volts in the US. So most things with adaptors for the US will work in the DR. Also many generators work on 110. Although there is a power grid, all hotels have their own back-up power supplies of generators and battery banks. The outlets are the same as in the US.
