What about in Elizabeth May’s Green Party of Canada? My guess would be the answer is “Toronto Toronto Toronto, Montreal Montreal Montreal, Vancouver Vancouver Vancouver, Winnipeg Corydon.
But what if I want to live in the north in Canada and explore the arctic and want to be vegan, not exploit nature, nor the morale of animals, not seals, not whales, not endangered species. But I want to live in harmony in the arctic. Is this possible to do?
My Vegan friend says living in the far north, you want to eat veggies, you have a choice: 1) Waste resources transporting goods up north or 2) Waste gas/electricity creating heating to grow veggies and fruits, OR 3) Waste Lumber to use fire to produce heat.
But isn’t there a way to maybe use solar energy from the midnight sun to produce enough energy resource the rest of the year to capture energy which you can then convert into heat to produce the climate to produce vegetables in the arctic all year round?
What about using the geothermal hot springs in and around Yellowknife as a warm-temperature machine to:
1) Create an oasis in the arctic to grow fruits and veggies all year so I can see the Northern Lights and Midnight Sun and explore nature to where roads don’t go
2) Pose no threat to endangered species, and be of no harm to whales and seals and fish and musk ox and moose and caribou and live eco-friendly and Vegan in the North of Canada?
Is it possible? My vegan friend otherwise would suggest all Canadians would have to live as far South as possible. BAsically Toronto which has lower ‘per capita’ pollution or perhaps Windsor or Point Pelee?
Exactly the cost of shipping is part of the waste problem.
This is why my vegan friend thinks every person on earth should have fewer kids and then move the small remaining population to the mountains of Costa Rica where there’s a 12-month growing season.

Your whole “question” was shot to heck as soon as you mentioned the Greenies. Just take a look at how many seats they got in the last election and you will see how much credibility they have in Canada. They are almost as insignificant as the Veg Heads you speak of.
Your friend is right. Unless you have a millions of dollars to develop a system to heat a greenhouse with solar power eating game is more environmentally friendly. If you can get some rich vegan to shell out the cash to hire all the engineers to design it, fly a construction crew up there and haul all the materials up there go ahead.
I would extend the places were is is worse to be a vegan to the prairies. Most of the farmers around the city grow wheat, barely and canola and raise animals for meat. For a few months in the summer you can get a few local vegetables like cabbage, potatoes, onions and corn but very little in the way of fruit. If you eat meat you have a choice of local foods where a vegan has to eat stuff shipped in from far away.
If they put a none of the above box on the ballot most of the Green Party’s support would dry up. I doubt they will even be in the next leaders debate with the way May acted in the last one.
Well, the Inuit have lived in the Arctic for some centuries and didn’t find a way to live off the land without eating meat. If you want to give it a shot, go right ahead.
hahaha.
I’m thinkin that’s a good idea! haha.
You know I don’t eat much meat myself… which is almost a sin here in Alberta…. but I’m thinkin you could grow some mean squash and spinach up there with your geothermal thing. I’m in on the project!
Not in Alberta.
