i really like the doors and i can play light my fire
i play the piano/ keyboard i can play anything by ear i love to play old classics but also alot of r&b songs yet i write my own songs and music so yeah…………………..
I play drums, and my fave band is Skindred, but the bands I like to play to are The Distillers (anything from the Coral Fang album), Good Charlotte (the Anthem, Lifestyles, Movin’ On, and I Heard You are the most fun), Sum 41, The Dropkick Murphys, and Blink 182. Basically any bouncy fast pop-punk.
Well, where to start..
For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fade to Black, Master of Puppets (minus the end solo), Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Seek and Destroy, One, The Shortest Straw, Wherever I May Roam, Eye of the Beholder, etc. I can play most Metallica riffs but I still struggle with some of their solos, so all the songs I listed I can more accurately describe as being able to play the riffs, choruses, etc. very well, but I’m still successfully working on the solos.

I may like a band or two better, but I enjoy playing their songs on guitar more than any other. The entire Seventh Son of a Seventh Son album, plus my favorite song to play is Still Life. I love that smooth intro, and to play it as fluid as they do is a dream come true.
i can play instruments but i dont play songs by other bands really though will admit i did attempt stairway to heaven on guitar and as a result the owner of the guitar hid it from me next visit
I can play:
“Eight Days A Week” – The Beatles,
(intro) “All the Small Things” – Blink 182
(parts of) “Remembering Sunday” – All Time Low
(parts of) “Black and Blue” – Bring Me the Horizon
(parts of) “Hey John What’s Your Name Again” – The Devil Wears Prada
(intro) “Wish You Were Here” – Pink Floyd
*some a few, but I mostly write my own riffs and lyrics. I don’t really cover a lot of songs.
I really want to start “You Had Me At Hello” by A Day To Remember this summer.
Alissa, I was just playing Light My Fire about 20 minutes ago lol Do you play Ray’s solo spot-on or do you improvise as well? I do a combo of both. I also adore The Doors!!!!
I play organ/piano and the bass. I started piano and all since I was four and the bass I just picked up this past year. I play jazz, some 60′s-70′s rock, reggae, and whatever I fancy on piano/organ. (St. James Infirmary, Kiss From A Rose – Seal, Afro-Cuban Jazz Suite – Chico O’Faril, hymns, Victor’s Piano Solo, Waiting In Vain- B. Marley, Wicked Inna Bed – Shabba Ranks, etc)
For bass, I mostly play reggae or funk. I like to play the 80′s Riddims that they played in the Jamaican Dancehalls. I also like to play anything by James Jamerson and also the great jazz bassists. Oh yeah, I can’t forget about the blues! (Girl From Ipanema – Astrud Gilberto, What’s Going On – Marvin Gaye, Real Roots Riddim, Skylarking Riddim, Moondance – Van Morrison, anything from The Doors, Sleng Teng Riddim, endless other riddims!, etc.)
My bass instructor is wanting me to start guitar so I’m about to take that up. So we’ll see what I can do on that in a year. I need to get back into the banjo and harmonica soon.
If I could learn a new instrument it would either be the bozouki or the steel pans!
I’m only learning guitar now, just a few months. I can’t play much as of yet-
Pretty Fly for A White Guy – The Offspring
Can’t Stop – Red Hot Chili Peppers
18 & Life – Skid Row
Then bits and pieces of “My Michelle”, “Civil War”, and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by GnR, “Bad Seamstress Blues” by Cinderella and a few others.
I try my best to transcribe songs rather than Googling the tabs, so I don’t know too many songs. Got tons more practicing to do…
I play piano and i love playing Muse songs, as Matt Bellamy is an amazing pianist.
‘Butterflies and Hurricanes’ has an amazing piano solo.
‘Sing for Absolution’
‘Apocolypse Please’
‘Feeling Good’
‘New Born’
‘Starlight’
‘Ruled by Secrecy’
‘Hoodoo’
They have countless songs that are so enjoyable to play. Matt Bellamy truly is a genius on the piano. (:
I can play Badfinger’s “No Matter What” quite well.
Also, I can play Cross Canadian Ragweed’s “Fightin’ For.”
There are a few others I can’t think of at the moment.
And, oh, yeah–I play guitar.
