David, your best days lie ahead, I know things have not been easy & it’s true that they won’t always be, I’ve long accepted that there is a price to be paid for being brilliant, and this is well known to you by now

Can’t wait to see the great things you’ll accomplish with your life, and I thank you for your friendship. For your support of the café, I can never repay you and I have so much gratitude to you and everyone who has kept the Café ideal alive in my absence.

    It’s always interesting to talk to you because you have different musical and cinematic tastes than I. So, 2009 will go down as the year you left teenhood behind and the year Noel finally (hopefully finally) wised up and kicked Liam into the gutter where he belongs.

    20 is a rather inconsequential birthday. Not that David shouldn’t celebrate it… he’s out of teenhood and all of that. But he’s already an adult in the eyes of the government — with the ability to fight and die for his country, vote, etc…. but no drinking. Not here in the states anyway.
    Good luck waiting around for another year before you can get into bars and try to find the answers to all of your problems at the bottom of a glass (like me).

    Anyway…. that all came out a bit dire. Happy Birthday, David. May your 20th year totally prove me and my answer wrong!
