So, before you die – what are some things that you feel you simply have to do?
For me:
-Visit Australia
-See MUSE/Oasis/Chili Peppers live in concert ![]()
-Make a difference to someone, somewhere
-Love, and be loved
-Put pink streaks in my hair
-Sit through and cry at a romance movie (I’ve never done this haha)
What would be on your bucket list?
If you’d like, you can leave your email address (or just email me your answer directly at itsabittersweetsymphony@yahoo.com ) and I can give you the entire bucket list I’ve comprised of all the answers from this question.
How would we start our little town out? I think that at least 200 acres would be enough, for starting, what do you think land wise? Where would this place be ideal?
I am so sick of modern society. We are quickly getting owned by all our own vices, gas for vehicles, electricity, heating bills, phone bills, grochery bills, rent, blah, blah, blah, the list goes on and on.
I wouldn’t push religion in my town like a cult or Amish community, although I would prefer people of good character and the skills to build this small Oasis. It would be more or less a farming type of life, based on the ideal that life can be enjoyable and everyone can pull together to help one another out with the daily aspects of township. I think that there would have to be a popualtion cap at start, what would it be? Well these are just a few of my ideas. I think that there are other people like me that feel the same but, its hard to take the leep. Oh would there be a price of addmission? Please respond!
“It’s also important to note that life is exceedingly rare in the universe — even if it exists on every planet and moon. All we do know is that life exists on one oasis — Earth. Most of the universe is nearly empty, and almost all of the matter is in stars or nebulae. Any sort of life that we can imagine only has a chance on planets or moons. The universe was not designed for life; in practically the entire universe conditions are extremely hostile to life. Saying that the universe is made just for us is like a frog looking at his pond and thinking that the whole world was made just for him.”

Again – Are we living on an oasis in a desolate universe?
What does this question mean for our way of life on this special planet?
I just think about Nebraska or Iowa or Indiana or anywhere else in the Midwest and ewwww… I get nauseous. I would feel so disoriented being so far from the ocean. The sea is the center of the world, of life, and one needs it to feel centered and balanced.
And the Great Lakes are NO substitute for the ocean!
I live near Boston, such a fantastic city. New York’s not far away, we have the awesome coastline (which gets nicer north of Boston), nice forests, smallish but scenic mountains close by, etc. Europe is only 6 hrs. away by plane–why would you ever live in the Midwest when you could live in, say, Boston?
I mean, sure, Chicago’s a pretty cool city, but it’s a cultural oasis–drive west from the city and soon you’re in the endless, flat fields that go on forever, and there’s nothing worth seeing until you hit Denver.
Is there anything to the Midwest aside from monotonous rural drudgery and grimy, depressed industrial cities? Don’t you in the Midwest feel the need to escape??
