Do you think Dr. King’s dream has come true?

Just Me asked:

Martin’s dream was as follows:

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of “interposition” and “nullification” — one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; “and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.”

Has it come true? Please explain you opinion with reasons.

Thanks in advance

80′s rock vs. 90′s rock.Who wins?

Tuesday 4 May 2010 @ 7:07 am

The Foil Frontman asked:

I just recently answered a question about ’90s rock vs. 00′s rock and found the question to be…in a word, laughable. But, to me, the question I’m now posing seems not to be at all…..

Let’s consider:

Nirvana, Alice in Chains, STP, Pearl Jam, Sublime, Tool, Black Crows, Matchbox 20,
Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Live, Incubus, Kravitz, Foo Fighters, Bush, RHCP, Radiohead, Oasis, Fuel, Counting Crows

vs.

Whitesnake, Metallica, Ratt, Bon Jovi (lol), Van Halen, The Police, Slayer, GnR, Queensryche, Genesis, Dire Straits, The Cars, The Clash, Springsteen, *** Pistols, U2, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Priest

(I know some of these bands started in the ’70s, just like some bands above started in the ’80s, but let’s consider these bands where they are for arguments sake)

I know there’s bands i’m not thinking of in both categories, but just mention them in your argument, this is all off the top of my head….
I can’t call this hands down either way. I’ve spent a lot of time listening to this music. I’d love to call ’90s (due to my age) but the ’80s had some rockin’ @ss bands. As a matter of fact, I wrote this question ready to call ’90s, but as I wrote more and more ’80s bands, my opinion started to sway.

Thank God you guys can’t thumbs down me here, but thanks to my love of ’90s rock, I’m calling a draw.

Advantage: Everyone
apc: awesome bands
